DIJON

It's with a lot of pleasure that we joined us at Dijon for the 4th stage of the european historic F3 1.0 trophy. Like the 3 previous meetings, we had new joiners coming from Czech Republic and Great Britain.

A sunny wheather welcomed us on friday for the qualifying session. During the session, P.Ringström and R.Smith had some trouble with their engine. Some oil was on the track and provoqued spectaculars spins (without damages). At the end of the session, the track became better and H.Cordel (March) realised the best lap, folowed by V.Rivet (Brabham), H.Uber(Tecno), M.Slotine (Merlyn)...

For the first race, it's M.Slotine who took the best start and the lead at the first curve, folowed by V.Rivet, H.Cordel, H.Uber and P.Ringström but H.Uber, very quick at Dijon and very motivated, overtaked the other drivers and took the lead after 2 laps. Few time later H.Uber, like P.Ringström had to stop because of technical problems. While H.Cordel came back at the first position, he was folowed shortly by V.Rivet during all the race. The 2 pilots took the lead several times. At the finish line, H.Cordel arrived finaly 1st, V.Rivet 2nd, M.Slotine 3rd. For the second race, the starting grid was the result of the first race and it's V.Rivet who took the best start, folowed by H.Cordel, M.Slotine, G.Rivet, R.Fischer...

While V.Rivet and H.Cordel was taking some advance, the "fight" between M.Slotine, G.Rivet, R.Fischer and H.Uber (coming back from the end of the grid) for the 3rd place was very "hot" and places moved several times a lap. But R.Fischer slowed down because of his very old tyres (4 years old !) and G.Rivet and M.Slotine made little mistakes. So finaly, it's V.Rivet who won the race, H.Cordel 2nd (less a second behind !) and H.Uber 3rd.
